Dean Quinn

Today we talk about Dean Quinn, a 25 years old designer who won the award as women's-wear designer of the year in 2009. He is Irish but has lived in Milan, where he worked for Donatella Versace, and then moved to New York. He had already worked in the city, during his studies, and decided that was the best place to establish his own line.

Se' by Icho

Se' by Icho is the brand of Icho Nobutsugu a Japanese designer who lives in Milan. Yes, we love Japan and today we decided to talk about him. He has worked with many famous fashion brands and recently has created his own brand. All his creations are handmade and fit for women and men but details are male. Every single piece is unique. Icho's favorite materials are silk and hemp for spring-summer and cashmere for fall-winter. The "knitting mania" has become an hobby not only for ladies!

Limi Feu is a Japanese fashion designer who made her Paris Fashion Week debut in October 2007. She is the daughter of the designer Yohji Yamamoto. It's difficult to define her style but in our opinion is a mixture of punk and eighties. Here are some pics of the Spring Summer 2012 Fashion Show.

Louis Vuitton Spring Summer 2012 Fashion Show

The show begun with a carousel of white horses that starts to turn and drops off the models. The collection's theme was macramé - that is confirmed as a trend - and a little white dress is now on everybody's list for next summer.

One of the models was Kate Moss, a friend of the designer Marc Jacobs. 

The whole collection is played on a very feminine shape, constructed around the use of sangallo veiled by a layer of organza. The colours are daisy, periwinkle, sky blue, candy pink, aquamarine, ivory and light blue. They remind at childhood and candies.

Versace for H&M

Anna Dello Russo was seen wearing one of the Versace for H&M's dresses. We don't like so much this collection and this dress looks like the one of Balmain's Spring Summer 2012 Collection.

Anna Dello Russo ha già indossato uno dei vestiti della collezione di Versace for H&M. Non ci piace molto questa collezione e questo vestito assomiglia molto a uno di quelli della collezione Primavera Estate 2012 di Balmain.

Balmain Spring Summer 2012 Fashion Show

One of the shows that we liked of the Paris' Fashion Week is the one of Balmain. The brand has a new artistic director, the twenty-five years old Olivier Rousteing. In his collection we noticed the Las Vegas and Mexico's influence, but also some inspiration from the old Versace.

In your opinion, is Olivier Rousteing a worthy successor to Christophe Decarnin?

Uno degli show che ci è piaciuto di più della Fashion Week parigina è quello di Balmain. Il brand ha un nuovo direttore artistico, il venticinquenne Olivier Rousteing. nella sua collezione notiamo l'influenza di Las Vegas e del Messico, ma c'è anche qualche ispirazione al vecchio Versace.

Secondo voi Olvier Rousteing è un degno erede di Christophe Decarnin?

Boglioli + Kolor

A new project to help the japanese population after the earthquake of March 2011: the colaboration between the italian brand Boglioli and the japanese brand Kolor. The capsule collection consists of 4 jackets that will be sold at the end of October and their proceeds will be donated to Save The Children Japan.

Un nuovo progetto per aiutare la popolazione giapponese dopo il terremoto di Marzo 2011: la collaborazione tra il marchio italiano Boglioli ed il brand giapponese Kolor. La capsule collection è composta da 4 giacche che saranno vendute alla fine di Ottobre e il loro ricavato verrà donato a Save The Children Giappone.

DSquared2 Spring Summer 2012 Fashion Show

For this collection Dean and Dan were inspired by the most famous music festivals like Glastonbury, Coachella and Woodstock. The models walked beer in hand, wearing denim matched with glittered t-shirts, mini skirts, embellished waistcoats, checked shirts and studded jackets.

What do you think of this collection? We are crazy for rain boots!!!

Per questa collezione Dean & Dan sono stati ispirati dai più famosi festival musicali come Glastonbury, Coachella e Woodstock. Le modelle sfilavano con la birra in mano, indossando jeans abbinati a t-shirts scintillanti, mini gonne, preziosi gilet, camicie a quadri e giacche borchiate.

Cosa ne pensate di questa collezione? Noi andiamo matte per gli stivali da pioggia!!!

Molecule 02

Molecule 02 è un profumo della seconda nuova serie di fragranze sintetiche di Escentric Molecule. 

Il profumo è basato su ambroxan, un aroma molecolare identico al naturale. Il vero ambroxan si trova nell'ambra grigia, ma il costo stratosferico della sua estrazione lo rende proibitivo per l'uso nei profumi. L'ambra grigia è di per sé una delle poche fragranze naturali di origine animale che non ha connotazioni di crudeltà perché è prodotto ed escreto dallo sperma del capodoglio. Dopodiché quando arriva a terra viene raccolto, nel momento in cui raggiunge il suo profumo distintivo; il suo caldo aroma è una sinfonia di boronal, ambrinol, dihydro ionone, e la sua migliore parte aromatica, ambroxan. Indossate Molecule 02 e noterete una fresca morbidezza quasi minerale che si espande sottilmente avvolgendovi.

Molecule 02 is a perfume from the second new series of synthetic fragrances from Escentric Molecules company.

The perfume is based on ambroxan, a nature-identical aroma-molecule. Real ambroxan is found in ambergris, but the stratospheric cost of its extraction makes it prohibitive for use in fragrances. Ambergris itself is one of the few natural animalic fragrance ingredients that has no connotations of cruelty because it is produced and excreted by the sperm whale. It can float on the ocean for years evolving under the influence of sun and salt water. Then it is collected when it washes up on shore, by which stage its distinctive nutty, warm scent is a symphony of boronal, ambrinol, dihydro ionone gamma – and its best-smelling aromatic part, ambroxan. Wear Molecule 02 and you will notice a fresh, almost mineral smoothness which subtly expands to envelop you.
